World Heritage Millennium rock painting
In 2016, Huashan rock art completed its 13-year history of applying for the world heritage, becoming the 49th World Cultural Heritage in China, the first rock art world cultural heritage in China, the only world cultural heritage in Guangxi, as well as the national key cultural relics protection unit, national scenic spot and national AAAA scenic spot.
In the ancient Mingjiang River, Huashan rock painting lasted for thousands of years, from the Warring States period to the Eastern Han Dynasty, it took more than 700 years to complete such a magnificent work. At present, the total number of legible images of Huashan is 1951, of which 347 are the main body, 1209 are the side body, 209 are the bronze drum, 7 are the sheep horn button clock, 5 are the fine button clock, 14 are the ring head knife, 82 are the lattice or the head sword, 1 is the flat stem short sword, 13 are the ferry, 1 is the copulation between men and women, 63 are the dog. The periods of the rock paintings respectively cover the first, second, third and fourth periods. The largest image scale of the single group is group 6 of the first one, which is about 41.45 meters wide, 34 meters high and 1409 square meters in area.
Huashan rock painting with rich content and deep artistic conception is like a Book of heaven that has not yet been deciphered. There are many unsolvable mysteries up to now: How did Huashan image be painted on the high and steep cliff more than 2000 years ago? What is the purpose and significance of these paintings? Rock art has a history of more than 2000 years. Why can color be so bright now? Up to now, a series of questions have not found a completely convincing answer.
Huashan rock painting is a kind of pigment made by luoyuexian's civil hematite powder, supplemented by animal glue or vegetable glue, and made by special technology. With its rough and simple painting style, unrestrained and smooth lines, and single color, it powerfully outlines the bright scenes of war, farming, sacrifice, entertainment and other records of the production and life of the ancestors of ancient Luoyue, so it is known as the "wordless epic on the cliff".
After two thousand years of baptism, Huashan rock paintings are as beautiful as before. This magical picture shows the spiritual life and social life of ancient Luoyue people along the Zuojiang River, and shows the cultural precipitation of Luoyue ancestors for thousands of years.
